flOw Soundtrack Please?

Postby Dreamer » Fri Aug 17, 2007 2:32 pm

First thread here. :D

Okay, so I have the whole Cloud Soundtrack on CD. But after hearing flOw's Intro on it's Myspace, I just had to have it too (it's sooo... beautiful!).

Jenova, Kellee, Nick, anyone: Is the flOw PS3 Soundtrack available anywhere on the web for download? And if not, could you guys maybe upload it so we could download it? :)

I already talked about this same thing back in 2006, and they didn't do anything

Well, PWEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be crazily crazy awesome!!!

Even more crazy awesome than when a pillow fights a pillow.

I don't think it would be too expensive for you to put up the music up for download here, or if you were to make some CDs for your loyal fans here on the forums.

All we have to do is hope that Sony doesn't want us to pay extravagant amounts of money for the music... (I would pay a decent chunk of money for the CD myself, but Sony has a big problem with releasing expensive things)

I'd love to be able to get a proper soundtrack, too. Problem is, the music for the game is split up into a whole lotta tracks which blend into each other. For a proper soundtrack release, someone (presumably Austin Wintory) would need to mix the many tracks per campaign down to something representative of the experience. Probably wouldn't be hard to do, but of course Sony would have to want it to happen, and Austin is probably busy doing something else for them already.

Fun fact: of the 135 MB that flOw PSP will take up on your memory stick, 80 MB is the music. Almost 60%.

That 135 MB was an estimate, BTW. Don't hold me to it.

This thread now has 1,000 views with just three replies, while the flOw announced for PSP thread has 364 views and double digit replies.

It seems that a lot of non-posters want the music to be released. (Possibly the first virtual CD release on the PlayStation Network?)

Maybe you can get another ones in the Flash version of flOw.

Just click Download at the top-right side and you'll have the BGM as well as Flash-based flOw game.

It's true, you can, and it's good music; but it's pretty low bitrate. Not very satisfying for headphone listening.

The best way would be for someone to take the WAV source for the PS3 tracks, slap a fade on the start and end (since they were all built for looping), convert them to MP3 (or better yet, Ogg Vorbis) and post them on a website. ...aaand, don't bother Sony's legal department, I'm sure they wouldn't mind... ;)

Well, just so you know, we haven't done NOTHING about it! It's just that these things take time, interest, and approval. We've got the interest for sure, the approval from our people at Sony Music is there, so it's just the time that it takes for these things to become a reality.
