Real flOw Creatures...?

Postby Xyzzæ » Sat Aug 29, 2009 12:14 am

I saw this on Wired, and I immediately thought of this game:

Doesn't that creature look a lot like the classic "Snake", or am I just crazy?
What do you think?

Huh, that's pretty cool.

Now let's hope the shark guy is the next one found.

How do you know you haven't already, aren't they all microscopic?

The next flOw creature should be the Furry Crab.

Or maybe it should be the basis of TGC's next game:

When we ported the game to PSP, we took TGC's 3D models without changing the scale (no reason to). Their models were built on a scale of tens of distance units; so, for example, even the smallest of the "food creatures" was around 10 units across. Distance units in our game engine are considered to be meters. Therefore, one of the larger segmented creatures (like what you become) could easily be kilometers long.

Of course, really, the units of measurement in flOw are totally arbitrary, since you have no real-world frame of reference, so this was nothing more than a nerdy insider joke on our team.

On the other hand, how do you know flOw's creatures aren't really enormous creatures floating through the dense clouds of an alien gas planet? :)
